Q1 2021 Performance of Top Consumer Finance Apps on Android in the UK

The first quarter of 2021 has been an active period for Consumer Finance applications on the Android platform in the United Kingdom. Using data from Sensor Tower, we can observe the performance trends of the top five apps in this category.

Google Wallet saw a fluctuating trend in downloads, starting with around 20K in the last week of December 2020, dipping to approximately 16K in mid-January, and then peaking at nearly 27K by late March. Weekly active users showed an upward trend, from approximately 532K at the end of December to around 639K by the end of March.

Barclays UK experienced a varied pattern in downloads, with a notable spike to roughly 22K in the third week of March, contrasting with other weeks that hovered between 11K and 19K. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at around 1.3M and ending the quarter near the same figure.

For Halifax Mobile Banking, downloads saw a peak of approximately 16K in the last week of January, with other weeks ranging between 9K and 15K. The weekly active users experienced a slight increase from 802K at the beginning of the period to over 827K in late March, before dipping slightly to around 789K.

Monzo - Mobile Banking showed consistency in its download figures, which generally stayed between 10K and 14K throughout the quarter. The number of weekly active users for Monzo had a slight rise from 1.1M to 1.12M, with some fluctuations in between.

Lastly, Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking downloads were relatively stable, ranging from 9K to around 15K. The weekly active users count showed a mix of ups and downs, starting at approximately 971K, reaching a high of nearly 1M in late February, and closing the quarter at about 968K.
